The Opportunity

Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is one of the premier culinary destinations in the Bow Valley. The award-winning culinary team is led by Executive Chef, Sébastien Tessier, and Executive Sous-Chef, Santosh Sahoo who are both accredited with the prestigious Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC). We are proud to boast three fantastic restaurants (Three Ravens Restaurant & Wine BarMaclab Bistro and Vistas Dining Room) where our menus have been inspired by fresh, local ingredients, and are infused with creativity. We also hold numerous Banquets and Receptions throughout the year where our guests are able to experience creative, memorable and inspirational menus that leave a lasting impression.

The Kitchen at Banff Centre is looking for an eager and hard-working Pantry Cook to assist in food preparation. Our Kitchen is proud to employ Cooks and Chefs from all over the world, and the Pantry Cook is a great position for someone who is looking to start a career in the Culinary Arts.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Takes direction from the First and Second Cooks
  • Cleans, peels, and cuts fruits and vegetables
  • Assists in plating a variety of foods
  • Sets up and restocks function buffet lines and Vistas' Marche lines
  • Performs some light cooking as assigned

Qualification and Educational Requirements

  • Has some cooking experience and basic food knowledge; some culinary training is an asset
  • Is a good listener and takes direction well
  • Works well with others, contributing to a positive work environment
  • Demonstrates a high standard of customer service and good organizational skills

Employment Terms & Benefits

  • In accordance with CUPE 4318, this is a unionized, hourly support staff position, subject to a 500-hour probationary period.
  • This position pays $15.00 per hour working up to 40 hours per week on a rotating schedule.
