People & Culture Specialist The People & Culture Specialist works with the Human Resources Manager to make and keep Banff Hospitality Collective a dynamic, thriving, growing organization and a great place to work. The People & Culture Specialist enjoys supporting and working with individuals and teams across the organization. Working in partnership with the Human Resources Manager the People & Culture Specialist supports and champions HR operations, the creation, development, and delivery of programs, policies, and practices. In doing so, exemplifies our values and culture as they build strong relationships with people from across the organization and community partners. The People & Culture Specialist connects with people naturally, listening and understanding opportunities to engage, support, and inspire others What You'll Do While you’re very focused on building BHC’s employer brand, recruiting amazing people to join our family, and building community for our staff - you’re also a jack of all trades in relation to administration and HR. You’ll do a little bit of everything in HR; if it relates to employees there’s a good chance you’ll be a part of it. You bridge the gap between BHC (the employer) and job seekers, building relationships with culinary schools, job resource centers, and other avenues of access to job seekers. Connecting with people and building trusting relationships Own BHC orientation, seeking out useful information to include to introduce new employees to the company and to Banff. As our most enthusiastic employer brand ambassador and community builder you lead our Collective Community Commitment committee; and plan, host, and build excitement for staff activities, initiatives, and parties. You’ll also maintain a calendar of company and community events to help employees live the Banff lifestyle to it’s fullest. This role also helps the office stay organized by carrying out some office administration tasks, arranging donations in response to donation requests, and monitoring the admin email inbox. You’ll play an important role in spreading the word - you make sure BHC employees are aware of what we’re up to and how they can get involved. You’re the content creator and writer of the BHC monthly newsletter, and you play the main role in sending out announcements to staff via our communication software, using discretion and being sure to not bung up everyone’s email inbox. Be known for having one of the best jobs in the company, hosting all our staff events and activities, also means you get to attend and participate - such things as hiking, climbing, fitness classes, volunteering, community cleanups, and whatever other things you can think of. Analytical problem solver with a strong eye for detail, a sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize Travel may be required Ability to create and conduct presentations What We're Looking For Basic and general understanding of the human resources field Formal education and experience in HR are ideal (we’d love if you have a diploma and two years of related experience), but don’t be shy, the right attitude might change our minds. The successful candidate must have the ability to be physically active, have an interest in hiking and the outdoors and a passion for sharing that with others First aid training is considered an asset, the successful candidate must be willing to obtain training within a month of hire if they don’t possess it upon hire.
